Principal Advisor - Business Owner Advisory Services, NMLS

Business Owner Advisory Services (BOAS) is an area within U.S. Bank's Private Wealth Management Business group consisting of highly specialized professionals with entrepreneurial/consulting/investment banking backgrounds that provide fee-based consulting and advisory services specifically tailored to business owners.





The Business Owner Advisory Services (BOAS) Principal Advisor (a managing director level position) is responsible for developing new business and providing advice on business related issues to business owners. Identifies new client opportunities through internal and external channels, focusing on High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients who own businesses. Consults with prospective clients about their personal and business financial goals, and develops strategies to best meet those needs (e.g., professionalizing operations, growing business, and liquidity / transition options). Further, this individual works with internal sources to expand existing relationships and to identify new business opportunities. S/he actively markets BOAS and maintains an active prospect database and refers clients to other U.S. Bancorp business units as appropriate.





**Essential Functions:**




1. Responsible for developing new business for BOAS. Identifies new client opportunities through internal and external channels, focusing on High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients who own businesses

2. Cultivates and maintains relationships with numerous internal and external sources of new business.

3. Establishes strong credibility and strategic partnerships with business owners.

4. Meets with prospective clients to explain BOAS offerings and assists clients in evaluating their business and personal needs through consultative analysis.

5. Develops and delivers customized presentations/plans to help client accomplish their goals.

6. Maintains a continuing relationship with existing customers to retain business and develop additional business.

7. Establishes and maintains a network of key people in the industry and community.

8. Actively ensures compliance with the U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies and procedures. Actively participates in any required corporate and business line training in these areas. Follows account opening procedures and understands and follows internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes, as required for this position. Actively works with customers to understand each customer's normal account activity, as appropriate for this position.



The Principal Advisor will cover the Portland and Seattle markets and report to the National Head of BOAS in Minneapolis.




This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check. Failure to meet or maintain any of the NMLS registration requirements, including maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit record, may result in a rescission of your offer or termination of employment.


**Qualifications:**



The successful candidate will bring a track record in serving as a consultative advisor to entrepreneurs / business owners. S/he will have the financial acumen and industry knowledge to exhibit an in-depth understanding of clients' needs and alternatives. Industry and market credibility are critical for success in this role.





**Basic Qualifications**




+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

+ CPA or other related credential/professional designation

+ Entrepreneurial and/or senior executive experience

+ 10 or more years of experience advising/banking business owners, specifically on improving operations, M&A transactions and liquidity/transition options.
